Jorge Masvidal considers Jacques Della Madarena to be a “bad guy.”
Undefeated within the Octagon, Madalena aims to win his first world title on May 10th when she challenged welterweight King Beral Muhammad at the UFC 315 co-main event in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Della Maddalena was originally alongside Leon Edwards at UFC London last weekend, but the promotion was forced to change things after Shavkat Rakhmonov couldn’t accept the offer to fight Muhammad at the event due to injuries.
“GameBred” appeared on submission radio, summarizing Della Madalena’s work and likened it to fan favorite scratcher Nick Diaz.
“He’s a bad guy,” Masvidal said. “He’s like his prime. He’s a bit of a Diaz, Nick Diaz type.
Jorge Masvidal is still circling the UFC return
Jorge Masvidal left the UFC after suffering four consecutive losses within the Octagon in 2023. Since then, “GameBred” has gone toe toe with Nick Diaz’s younger brother Nate Diaz in a boxing match under the Game Bread Boxing Banner in July 2024.
The fight served as a rematch for the BMF title Clash at UFC 244 in November 2019.
Masvidal again came short for “Stockton Samurai” and came on the wrong side of the majority decision. The two UFC title challenger then proposed that he return to the Octagon, but no official dates or details have been revealed.
Della Maddalena appears to live on his streak against Belal Muhammad
Della Maddalena appeared in UFC 315 and is riding a 14-fight winning streak dating back to 2016. All his final seven victories are within the Octagon, with the recent TKO being TKO over one-off title challenger Gilbert Burns at UFC 299.
Overall, 14 of Australia’s 17 wins were far away, with five of them under the UFC banner.
On the contrary, Beral Muhammad is best known for crushing victory, with only three finishes against 18 battles in the UFC. Still, Grapple’s heavy strategy of “remember the name” took him to the top of the welterweight division, defeating the last 10 opponents along the way.
