Jorge Masvidal is not interested in fighting Conor McGregor
After 10 years of competition within the Octagon, “GameBred” left the UFC in a four-game winning streak. He has since been toe-toe with Nate Diaz in a 10-round boxing match, but suffered a majority-decisive loss against his previous BMF opponent and was unable to return to the victory column.
Masvidal has teased his return to the UFC in recent months, but so far no official details or details have been revealed. However, there is one thing that can be excluded. “Gamebred” appears on Submission Radio, reveals that he will not enjoy his battle with the Irish megastar.
“I don’t know how many days that guy is,” Masvidal said. “I won’t hold my breath in fighting this (exped), you know.”
That would probably be a wise choice after seeing Michael Chandler waste two years of his career waiting for McGregor to sign on the dotted line.
Conor McGregor will fight while serving as president of Ireland.
McGregor was scheduled to face former Bellator MMA Champion at UFC 303 in Las Vegas, but “Mystic Mac” resigned from the match after suffering a broken Pinky’s toe just weeks away from the night of the fight. Until recently, McGregor has argued that his return to the octagon is imminent, but his foray into politics may formally put his combat sports career on the backburner.
Earlier this month, McGregor announced he was running for President of Ireland. And while his actual chances of being elected are not slim (+10,000 via sportsbetting.ag), “notorious” loves the idea of competing within the Octagon, while serving as the best official in his home country.
“Of course you’re crazy? That’s part of why I want to do it,” McGregor told a post-BKFC 70 press conference. “Imagine being announced as Irish president while fighting? But certainly yes, hell.”
