Josh Hazlewood, who spearheads Australia’s fast bowling, made a bold call ahead of the packed cricket calendar. Josh Hazlewood has decided to skip some T20Is in the upcoming 5-match series against India and focuses on preparing for the very important Ash 2025-26 Red Ball at home.

Hazellewood was named with three ODIs in the Australian team and the first two T20Is against India. After finishing his national duties, Starpace returns to his domestic side, New South Wales, to acquire valuable Red Ball Match Practice at the Sheffield Shield.

Hazlewood missed the final three T20Is against India, with the second T20I scheduled at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 31st, then shifting gears to red ball cricket. So he has enough time to rest and practice red balls before the ashes.

Josh Hazlewood: You can’t have everything

“We definitely had a chat about fitting in the Shield game, and I think that’s important when we have time,” Josh Hazlewood said in an announcement of Cricket Australia’s sponsorship with Woolworths.

This year I’m going to miss some T20s to do that. I certainly don’t like the lack of Australian games. But in the long run, it’s also about getting the best preparation for ashes. You can’t have everything, and that’s a trade-off at the moment. ”

Josh Hazlewood’s Smart Transition Plan

Well, Australian Pacer is determined to stay in touch with the White Ball Game ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka, but he believes that a proper red ball transition is important for the Ash series against England at home. He also doesn’t worry about his workload.

Hazlewood explained further. “So I raised my hands on as many tours as possible. It means that even if I’ve only played three on the tour, I’m still touching the bass in those formats. The game doesn’t change much.

Over 175,000 tickets sold out in the India Australia series

In particular, tickets for the Australian India T20I at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 31st sold out three weeks ago. Cricket Australia has confirmed that more than 175,000 tickets are on sale for the eight-match Whiteball Series, and is already tired of public allocations to Sydney and Manuka Oval.

The Adelaide ODI and Gabba T20Is are almost sold out, each with fewer than 5,000 tickets remaining. The Melbourne Clash will take part in the season’s sold out event along with 12 Ashes matches. AFL member tickets for the MCG game will be on sale on Monday, while tickets for MCC members will be available on Tuesday.
