NBA Insiders have revealed key details of the Denver Nuggets’ timeline, firing Michael Malone of the Denver Nuggets.
It was reported on Monday that the Denver Nuggets fired head coach Michael Malone, who won in just under a week at the completion of the regular season.
Nikola Jokic delivers a great performance, and the nugget became the fourth species when it fired Malone.
But they lost four games in a row and didn’t play basketball.
His firing led to many discussions in the NBA community, and even opposition coaches shared feelings about Malone’s firing.
NBA insider Tim McMahon, who was a surprise to many, revealed that owner Josh Kroenke has already decided to fire Malone as an All-Star break.
The Nuggets entered the All-Star break with a 36-19 record and were well placed to finish in the top half of the Western Conference.
McMahon revealed that Kroenke has decided to fire Malone, but the Nuggets have achieved an eight-game winning streak, which will postpone the decision.
Speaking about the environment around Malone and his team after the shooting, McMahon said on the “The Hoop Collective” podcast:
“But speaking to people around the organization, I honestly haven’t heard the sadness that Michael Malone is no longer the Nuggets head coach.
“It’s almost a consensus and I’ve spoken with some people that, like his time ran that course, and whether this extended Cold War battle, or whatever you want to call it, drained joy from the whole organization between Michael Malone and Calvin Booth.”
Malone never eschewed his players, and it was on display just before his firing.
His leadership changed the franchise and made them one of the best teams in the league.
Nikola Zhokic, one of the best players in the world right now, has come a long way since being drafted by the Nuggets in the second round, and the necessary achievements need to go to Malone.
The Serbs said he was not informed before the shooting, which could lead to Djokic having to make a decision about his future with the Nuggets.
They have three players with large contracts and don’t have much help around them.
The future of Russell Westbrook is also in a balanced way, so Nuggets have a lot to deal with.
While we’re not sure about the future of who will replace Malone, the franchise will need to add a few more pieces to help Jokic and win another championship roster.
