Joshua Van furthered his flyweight rankings with his dominant performance against Bruno Silva at UFC 316, which featured qualifying Saturday night.
Silva looked solid early on, illuminating the van’s lead leg with a nasty kick. However, it was clear that Van’s boxing was far better than Silva’s boxing. It became very clear past the halfway point of the second stanza as Van unleashed the combination that crashed Silva onto the canvas.
It was just one of three knockdowns for the van that tied the most knockdown flyweight record in one fight.
Silva survived as much as he could, but he finally ate a nasty right hand from the van before descending the count in one minute to go to a third. At that point, referee Viter Ribeiro finally had enough to watch and stopped the match.
Official Results:Joshua van def. Bruno Silva via TKO (right cross to ground and pound).
