Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney has linked his move away from the club during the summer transfer.
Things like Manchester United, West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Tottenham have seen him active last season.
Hayden Hackney’s enthusiast clubs
Graeme Bailey argued: “Middlesbrough doesn’t need money to float or whatever, but if they really want to back up Rob Edwards, they need some money.
“Yes, I’m hoping Hackney will go. Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, Man United, West Ham and others have seen him.”
It will be interesting to see if they have decided to make a move for him in the coming weeks. Hackney is certainly enough for the Premier League, and he is about to join an ambitious club that can fight for the trophy. Something like Manchester United or Tottenham could be an exciting destination for players. They are one of the largest clubs in the country and have a platform to help him realize his potential.
Michael Carrick named Hackney “experimental.”
The Spurs have secured their qualifications for the Champions League, which makes them an attractive destination. Manchester United, meanwhile, is one of the largest clubs in the world. Both clubs need a quality central midfielder, and the 23-year-old could be an ideal acquisition.
Bailey feels that a fee of around £20 million can get the job done.
Man United needs midfield quality
Manchester United and Tottenham certainly have the resources to pay, and it will be interesting to see how things unfold.
They needed a quality young central midfielder for their future, and the 23-year-old could easily justify his investment. The opportunity to move into the Premier League will be difficult to refuse because of the younger midfielder. He certainly hopes Middlesbrough will sanction his departure if top clubs like Manchester United or Tottenham make calls.
