Chelsea and Tottenham are linked with a move for Brazilian striker Vitor Roque.
The 20-year-old has performed very well since returning to Brazil with Palmeiras. He has scored 17 goals in 46 appearances for the club and must be a force for the club.
No wonder Chelsea and Tottenham were interested in him. It will be interesting to see if they make an offer to complete the deal.
Chelsea and Spurs reluctant to sign Vitor Roque
Journalist Jorge Nicola has spoken to Chelsea sources and says the Blues have no interest in the young attacker. He also added that Tottenham are not considering a move for the 20-year-old for the time being. They have two strikers at their disposal and they will be above Roque in the priority order.
He said on his YouTube channel: “That name has been completely ruled out. Chelsea have never thought of signing Vitor Roque and have no intention of thinking about it. The buzz around the forward is because those close to Vitor are trying to give him more visibility abroad. Palmeiras are very confident that the £21m they have invested will keep Vitor Roque here for the long term.”
Palmeiras wants to remain on location
Meanwhile, the Brazilian team also has no intention of selling the player. They want to keep him at the club for the long term. He is an important player for them and will only improve with coaching and experience. He has all the ingredients to develop into a top-class player.
Young attackers need to play regularly to continue to develop. A move to a Premier League club may not be ideal for him at the moment. He has so far failed to make a mark in La Liga with Barcelona. He needs to develop further before he can make his mark in the Premier League.
