Sky Sports Reporter Keith Downey hopes Anthony Elanga will ultimately be a transfer this summer.
Nottingham Forest’s right winger has already been targeted by magpies, and last week there was an athletic report that Forest refused a £45 million bid.
Currently, Downie is posting on YouTube and can be seen returning with an improved offer to close this deal.
Reporters appear to expect Newcastle to be in a strong position to sign Elanga as there is currently no competition for the Swedish international signature.

Keith Downey transfers from Anthony Elanga to Newcastle
“All the sound is that Elanga is the number one option. Of course, it was Brian Mbemo, but now it’s been moved to Elanga and you can see that he’s a perfect fit for Eddie Howe’s style,” Downey said.
“I feel like the deal is over. Newcastle isn’t competing with anyone and I know they’re close in terms of fees.
“I think players are happy to move here from what I’m being told, and that’s the case when Newcastle comes up with numbers.
“They provided £45 million last week, but Forest wants £60 million. If Newcastle splits the difference and offers £52-53 million, I think they’ve finished the deal.
“If Newcastle has not yet improved, we hope that the bid will improve.”
Newcastle is also focusing on Elanga alternatives
If the report is believed, there may be other names in the frame for its wide right position.
The Elanga seems ideal, but West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus also links to NUFC by Football Insider.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Noni Madueke is mentioned by the Telegraph, but the report claims that Arsenal is also one of his suitors.
