Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch is discussing what he thinks is really going on in the Trent Alexander Arnold Transfer Saga.
England International is coming towards the end of its contract with the Reds and could potentially leave Anfield this summer with Bossman.
Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk have both appeared in free agency recently, but are now officially putting their pens on a paper about new contracts.
But while Alexander Arnold is at stake until the end of his current contract, it appears to be a bit of an open secret that he was planning to join Real Madrid.
Even if it hasn’t been officially announced yet, that’s what BBC Sport and many others have reported.
Speaking in the video below, Crouch revealed that he believes this is one of the previously clear decisions, even if the official announcement has not yet arrived…
Trent Alexander Arnold is certainly heading for Real Madrid’s move
Discussing the situation of Alexander Arnold, Crouch asks why he wouldn’t announce if the 26-year-old would stay, why would he save the sadness he’s getting?
LFC fans aren’t happy that this saga has dragged in, but at the same time he is certainly stagnating in the official announcement so that he can’t get any further pasting from the club’s supporters.
“I don’t think it’s as naive as anyone thinks (Trent has already been determined),” Crouch said.
“I think you know these things are sorted in advance, and I think so.
“If not, why do you take away the sadness you’re getting when you know you can announce it and stop it all? If there’s no other agenda.
“Officially (announces departure) that won’t work, to say the least, if I’m completely honest.”
Losing Alexander Arnold is a big blow, but there’s no doubt that he’ll be an exciting signing for Real Madrid. And it’s easy to see why he is seduced by the opportunity to move to the Bernabeu.
