Luka Donsic produced a strong performance in the Eurobasket as Slovenia met Germany in the quarter-finals.
Over the past two weeks, Luka Donsic has put together a series of spectacular individual performances to lead Slovenia in the Eurobasket.
Slovenia was leaning towards ending the competition in the group stage after struggling with a series of exhibit games before the tournament.
Donsic did everything he could in the Eurobasket quarterfinals to prevent losses that would make more sense for Germany.
In the end, Slovenia was slightly shorter despite heroic efforts from the LA Lakers superstar.
Slovenia took a first half lead against Germany, but they were eventually dropped to the ground by a stronger team.
Germany won the game 99-91, despite Luka Doncic earning more points than any player in the game. Doncic scored 39 points, producing 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
Orlando Magic’s Franz Wagner scored 23 points in Germany, with New Sacramento Kings star Dennis Schroeder backing up with 20.
The next highest scorer for the Slovenian team behind Donsic was Clemen Prepirik, a club basketball player in Dubai. He scored just 13 points.
This highlights the scale of the tasks Don Sick faces despite his playing at a high level.
Sofascore highlighted how Doncic scored a 12/15 free throw, but only scored 3-5/16. With some of these shots in it, Slovenia could be seeing different results.

“If Slovenia moves further, this could rank above the list of Luka’s hoop achievements,” Tim McMahon told the Hoop Collective Podcast ahead of the quarterfinals.
Luka Doncic scored over 25 points in the seventh game in the tournament. For each Armando Caporas, this is the first time a player has played a player in Eurobasket since 1988.
Doncic has no chance to add to this winning streak or fulfill MacMahon’s biggest “results” claim.
However, the tournament showed Don Sic was in great form, adding to the excitement of the upcoming NBA season and La Lakers fans were excited for his first year representing Purple and Gold.
