New Zealand National Cricket Team Player Kane Williamson has been named the best player of the century. The right-hander ignored Virat Kohli, batter of the Indian national cricket team, and instead chose Sachin Tendulkar, known as the god of cricket.
Kane Williamson’s comments came during his interactions with ESPNcricinfo. The batsman of the New Zealand national cricket team was asked to name the biggest cricketer of the 21st century. He didn’t take long to name Sachin Tendulkar. The former Indian skipper is definitely the best batsman to play the game.

Sachin Tendulkar is one of the main reasons why the majority of current players picked up bats. Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson and others all idolized him, and the kind of influence he had was something that most of the batters couldn’t do despite resigning a year ago.
Sachin Tendulkar played for India for 24 years. He was extremely successful in all years as he helped the team register some of the famous wins in the ODI and Test. The batter also won the 2011 World Cup and ended his career in 2013.
In his 24-year, illustrious career, Sachin Tendulkar has convened 34,357 across the 100th century format. The 2011 World Cup winner etched his name in almost every record book. Some of the records he made are still unbroken and out of reach for many of the people out there.

Kane Williamson has openly stated that Sachin Tendulkar is his cricket idol and still looks at him while playing in the league. Speaking about the same thing, he said in a video shared by Star Sports:
“My cricket idol was actually the guy who played in the Maidan (ground) we were just there. Sachin Tendulkar, he’s a legend. He still plays sometimes.”
During the discussion, Kane Williamson was also asked about his most memorable moments in cricket. The former New Zealand national cricket team skipper chose India for his 2021 WTC Final victory. He said:
“Personally, my most memorable moment was the first (world) Test Championship Finals that we (New Zealand) had been involved.”

Kane Williamson was also asked to choose the biggest event in cricket, replied, “I think the biggest event is still the ODI World Cup.”
Kane Williamson has played in four ODI World Cups for the Black Cap since making his international debut against India in 2010. He won the title under leadership in 2019, and the team faced a heartbreaking loss against the English National Cricket team.
