Kel’el Ware has reunited with his high school teammates, and it feels really good for the Miami Heat.
The NBA Summer League is ongoing. Fans will be the first to get a glimpse into NBA basketball for the 2025-26 season.
The Summer League is the first opportunity for an NBA rookie to play basketball for a team drafted or signed.
Bronnie James made an incredible summer league debut yesterday, but several teams are giving the rookies the opportunity to take off.
Well, one rookie on the Miami Heat Summer League roster has the opportunity to play with his high school teammate Kel-Elware.
Bryson Warren has been signed to the Miami Heat Summer League team for the second year in a row. Again, he can play with former Little Rock Central teammate Kel-Elware.
Speaking about the opportunity to play with Ware again, Warren looks back at chemistry from the past and how easy it is to play with him.
“That’s amazing. I don’t know how many times we did it, but every time we did it, we got a bucket.
“It’s very easy to play with him. People don’t know that when they return to high school they played together in their freshman year in high school.”
Warren and Ware hope to see success together in the summer league after helping the Miami Heat win the tournament last year.
Miami Heat assistant coach and summer league head coach Eric Glass was actively talking about Bryson Warren, apparently suggesting the Heat to sign him in the long term.
“He’s a great all-round player, he can shoot it, he can put it on the floor, he can play. He can defend at the level we want to do. We’re happy with Bryson.”
Glass also laid out his expectations for Kel-Elware in the Summer League. The Heat is using the summer league to develop young talent ahead of the new season.
So far, the Heat have experienced Eric Stevenson’s breakout in the summer league. And Kasparas jakucionis also had an impressive outing.
Have the Heat found an incredibly young core through the NBA Summer League? I can’t see that yet.
