NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins left with a five-fold All-star after a Game 3 loss for the New York Knicks.
The New York Knicks started off in a staggering 2-0 in their Eastern Conference semi-final matchup with defending champion Boston Celtics.
With that in mind, fans were hoping that the Knicks would bring that momentum to Game 3 at Madison Square Garden.
However, the Knicks were blown away by the reality champions as they served a 115-93 defeat at home. The shooting struggle between Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson was the key reason behind the Knicks’ overwhelming performance.
The 2025 NBA playoffs were Kat’s first postseason in the Knicks Jersey. The Knicks were great, but the same cannot be said in town.
The 5X NBA All-Stars struggle to film well throughout the playoffs. That being said, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins went out to Kat and labeled him “soft.”
“The town is playing so softly. Friends, they are not going to give you a foul. Get your body, grab your damn ground and play with strength.
Due to context, the town had 21 points and 15 rebounds in Game 3, but he shot 5 18s from the field. Included a 1-of-5 display from the 3-point line.
In his first season with the Knicks, the town appeared in 72 games during the regular season. Obviously, the veteran center is building up fatigue at this point in the season.
Knicks Insider Ian Begley reported that Kat was dealing with hand injuries and asked for his comment at a post-match meeting.
The town replied: “That’s what it is.”
Begley further reports that despite dealing with the injury, the town is currently focusing on supporting the Knicks wherever possible.
