Anthony Davis is preparing for his first full season with the Dallas Mavericks after being traded with Luca Donsic.
One of the main reasons Nico Harrison and Dallas Maverick traded Luka Donsic was that they were worried about his fitness.
He seems to be heading prominently towards his 2025-26 campaign with the Los Angeles Lakers, so he motivated Donsic to be incredible shape over the summer.
Meanwhile, Anthony Davis is recovering well from offseason eye surgery to repair isolated retina. Davis returns to 5-5 work more than a week ago and appears ready to go to the team’s preseason opening game.
Davis will need to wear protective glasses for the rest of his career. However, that’s not the only thing that looked different about Davis at Mavericks training camp.
Davis was seen at Mavericks training camp, which looks a little heavier than usual.
He reportedly earned £15 from training camp with the Lakers last year.
ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins targeted Davis for his out-of-shape and listed three reasons why he was disappointed with him.
“One thing is because I have a rookie in the Cooper Flag.
“The second is you are in a tough Western meeting that is loaded.
“3, you’ve been traded for an international superstar. You’re that guy on this team now, so you have to come to camp.
“I’m very disappointed or a little disappointed because I thought he’d come this season and be on missions.”
The Mavericks need to get Davis fully healthy as Kyrie Irving took action until at least January until the ACL was torn apart.
They can’t let Davis fold his health or physical performance.
Davis commented on his weight gain and said he wasn’t worried about it as he normally gains weight over the summer and loses it by November.
If the Mavericks want an opportunity to win the championship this season, they need health on their part and Davis will need to play near MVP levels.
