Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins is excited to see what the Dallas Mavericks star has for fans of the Play-In Tournament.
Before the 2024-25 NBA season began, Dallas Mavericks fans could not predict how the campaign would progress.
The highlights remain primarily the Mavericks trading packages from the 2020 NBA champion Anthony Davis and Lukadon Sic.
The move reportedly was made to enter a win-loss situation, but Davis was on the sidelines for six weeks after suffering an adduction injury during his MAVS debut.
When Davis was injured, the Mavericks suffered heartbreaking injuries, including Kyrie Irving tearing his ACL.
NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins thinks Davis deserves praise for coming back this season, even after he collapsed during a brief stint with the Mavericks.
“He might have been sitting for the rest of the season, he didn’t want to.
He wanted to go there and show Mavs fans that they have hope and belief.
“I think it was at the funeral that Luka Donsic left, but I’ll guess what Dallas has got now.
Davis may have played just six games for the team, but the Mavericks are 5-1 when the big guys are in the lineup. Additionally, AD spent his first big moment in the Mavs jersey as he led his team to a thrilling victory for the Atlanta Hawks.
Currently, the Mavericks are the ninth seed in the Western Conference. This means you have the opportunity to secure playoff seeds through play-in tournaments.
With that in mind, Perkins said: “He’s here. He’s happy in the Dallas Mavericks uniform and can’t wait to see what he does in the play-in tournament.”
Davis and Co. could give 100% in the postseason, but NBA analyst Michael Wilbon is still crushed by Irving’s absence.
“Kylie was injured and I feel really sick now. Dallas was a really attractive team to watch in the playoffs with everyone in that lineup.”
It was amazing to see the Irving Davis duo in action, but the Mavericks fanbase must be in time for the 32-year-old to be their main superstar, at least this season.
