Kerim Engizek and Dominik Humberger wore an absolute barn burner with an Octagon 77 headliner in Slovakia on Saturday night.
Humburger landed the biggest shot of the opening round, catching Engaisek with an uppercut, which sat in the dominant middleweight champion. The blow seemed to break Engizek’s nose, but that didn’t stop him from missing his hand in the second stanza.
Engizek really poured it in round two, tagging Hamburger with a strike and earning a takedown near the midpoint. Hamburger could be seen taking a hard breath before shaking Engizek with his fully-timed knee on Engeisek’s chin. Engizek instinctively returned to his grappling, but it didn’t take long for Hamburger to reverse position in the final 15 seconds of the stanza and to drop his elbow off the mount.
The front and back brawls lasted until three minutes before Engizek returned to wrestling and on the mat. But just like before, Hamburger backed up, but Engizek’s relentless attack prevented him from further attacks before the final Bell.
Official Results:Kerim Engizek def. Dominik Humburger will advance to the 1 million euro Tipsport Gamechanger Tournament Final via unanimous decisions (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
