Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce wants his name on his list of the finest pure scorers in NBA history.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recently presented longtime rival Kevin Durant Flower, who welcomed him as the finest pure scorer in NBA history.

For 6’11” players, the easiest way to succeed in the NBA is to live in paint. But Durant has changed that story.

Despite his towering height, KD shoots the ball like any other scorer from the boundary line. Pierce, meanwhile, believes Durant’s height will give him an advantage over the defender.

“But Kevin, he’s seven feet so he can shoot his shots to anyone. He’s not really looking at defense. You know what I’m saying? That’s why he’s so efficient.

“There’s no one around him at his height. He changed the way we view boundaries. He almost changed the game with boundaries,” Pierce said in his speech.

Pierce then pointed out why he deserves the best pure scorer tag in NBA history.

“So I know why LeBron was saying that, but you have to film it and put me in that story.

“I was probably the best pure scorer ever in gaming history,” Pierce concluded.

Pierce’s comments obviously went viral on social media, reaching slim leaper.

Knowing KD, it wasn’t a surprise when the 2x NBA champion responded to Pierce’s claim. He actually supported the Celtics legendary statement.

“I didn’t really see any weaknesses in Paul’s game. I understand where his confidence came from,” Durant wrote on Instagram.

Often such arguments between the present and the older generation stars turn into arguments, but it’s refreshing to see Durant pay tribute to Pierce.

Unfortunately, NBA fans didn’t feel the same way as Pierce was cruelly roasted for placing themselves in the conversation of the finest pure scorer of all time.
