Kevin Durant was involved in the biggest trade in NBA history when he was traded to the Houston Rockets.
Kevin Durant joined the Houston Rockets in exchange for Jaylen Green, Dillon Brooks, and a host of other assets in a deal involving seven teams and 13 players.
The Phoenix Suns traded for Durant in February 2023 in hopes of winning the NBA championship.
However, they fell short of their goal, only getting past Durant and the first round of the playoffs once.
With Durant off the Suns’ roster, expectations in Phoenix have dropped significantly. They are no longer considered a championship team.
But despite this, the atmosphere seemed great, with one X’s fan saying, “The Suns won the trade! Thank you, Kevin Durant.”
Durant complied, but didn’t seem offended by what was said and actually offered words of encouragement.
One Suns fan actually came to Durant’s aid and made it clear that Durant is part of the solution, not the problem.
The fan said, “You know you were more part of the solution than the problem, right? Let me make that clear. The young guys on our team have grown a lot, and a big part of that is having you as a role model. I wish you were still here with this same group. We will miss you.”
Durant responded, “I love you. Thank you champion!!”
The Suns haven’t been on anyone’s radar this season, but they could still be a competitive team.
The Suns last made headlines in 2021 when they unexpectedly made it to the NBA Finals.
