The Houston Rockets continued their perfect start to the NBA preseason.
The Houston Rockets took part in a heated game against the New Orleans Pelicans, but ultimately won 130-128.
While the Rockets won the game, Armen Thompson made headlines when he got into a scuffle with Jose Alvarado of the Pelicans.
The two teams got into a violent scuffle during the second quarter, but neither player was ejected from the preseason game.
Both stars fell to the floor, but Thompson let his anger out and landed a right punch on Alvarado.
Former NBA player Evan Turner responded to the scuffle and posted some advice for Thompson on X.
“Dear Amen, we know you are willing to fight and are not afraid. We want to see your next step as a player.
“Your team needs you. You haven’t gotten enough rest to sit on the sidelines with a four-game suspension because you wanted to fight a welterweight,” Turner wrote.
This isn’t the first time Thompson has gotten into a fight on the court. Thompson and Tyler Herro became famous for honking their horns during a game between the Miami Heat and the Rockets last season.
Despite this, Kevin Durant didn’t like Turner’s tweet, responding, “Great. Even more unsolicited advice.”
Aside from the obvious lapse in judgment in the heat of the moment, Amen had a phenomenal game for the Rockets.
The 22-year-old finished the game with 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists in just 24 minutes. Thompson also posted a plus-minus of +11, highlighting his impact on the Rockets.
With the 2025-26 NBA season just around the corner, it’s time for Thompson to break into stardom and help the Rockets win the NBA championship.
Thompson should talk to head coach I’M Udoka and find a way to become a consistent winner for the Rockets.
