The Golden State Warriors are off to a 4-2 start to the 2025-26 season.
The Golden State Warriors were in a great position to start the year at 5-1 against the Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee Bucks.
However, the Bucks upset the Warriors as Ryan Rollins replaced him and ended up being the best player on the floor.
Still, the Warriors should be happy with how their season started. There were a lot of positive outcomes through the first six games.
One of the biggest misconceptions about the Warriors is that they are too old and lack young talent to rely on.
Paul Pierce questioned the Warriors because of their age, saying, “Can they survive another long playoff run because they’re an older team? I don’t really know.”
But former teammate Kevin Garnett realized the Warriors are not just about veterans like Al Horford, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler.
The Warriors also have young talent like Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and Brandin Podzemski who can help them win.
“I thought (they were too old) but they know how to win, bro. Don’t leave Kuminga out. He puts a lot of pressure on you.”
“They have enough young players who have developed to play in this league. Kuminga, Moody, Podzemski, he’s everywhere. They know how to win.
“They know how to win, they have a system, and if you’re not in a position to defend that system, they’re going to kick you out of it.”
The only blot on the Warriors’ season so far is their loss to the Bucks, who were heavy favorites.
This loss probably has less to do with the Warriors not being a good team and more to do with the Warriors taking their foot off the gas.
The Warriors also lost to the Portland Trail Blazers, but it was a pleasant surprise to see Portland start the season with a 3-2 record.
Golden State has impressive wins against playoff-level teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, and Los Angeles Clippers. These wins vindicate the Warriors.
