The Denver Nuggets left the basketball world, surprised by the fired head coach and general manager ahead of the playoffs.
In a shocking development in the NBA, the ball club pulled the trigger and parted ways with manager Michael Malone.
Joining Malone along the way is the general manager Calvin booth, and the Denver Nuggets are moving from distracting and intensifying conflict within the franchise.
The Malone and Denver incident served as the second time the Memphis Grizzlies saw their head coach fired later in the season after they parted ways with Taylor Jenkins.
Kevin Garnett believes the Denver Nuggets made the mistake of hitting the head with an x Michael Malone at this important stage of the season.
In addition to the fact that Malone and Booth were at odds, it was their worsening slip descent that prompted the Nuggets to make an emergency change, despite the surprising performance of Nicola Djokic.
Before the end, Denver lost a skid in four games, highlighted by a chaotic double-overtime endgame against the Minnesota Timber Wolves.
Despite these circumstances, the former NBA superstar is simply bewildered about the decisions that the Nuggets leadership offers.
“If this is a new lens, I don’t like this,” Garnett said in KG certification. “I don’t like this.
“Continuity needs to enter the playoffs. You need confidence. You need all healthy people. This is a massive (distraction).”
As such, Garnett expressed his disappointment for team president Josh Croenke, who removed the booth from his general manager position.
Interestingly, despite what unfolded and the huge noise they created around themselves and the association, the nuggets show improvement.
Since Malone and Booth’s departure, the Nuggets have already won two of their last two games under interim coach David Adelman, beating the Sacramento Kings and the Memphis Grizzlies.
With postseason mooring at stake, Denver raised the game and got better and rose to the opportunity. However, Garnett is sure they are wrong, especially considering Malone led the Nuggets to the 2023 championship.
“You don’t do that to Mike, your peers,” Garnett insisted. “I think he has earned his shield, the right to go out to his peers.
“We don’t know what’s going to happen in the playoffs, anything can happen.”
Depending on the progress and success of this 2025 playoff, it will take time to see whether the Nuggets really dropped the correct call by cutting back on their relationship with Malone.
