TJ Dillashaw shed light on Khamzat Chimaev’s secret weapon as he heads for his first UFC title fight.
On August 16th, “Borz” stepped into the main event spotlight at UFC 319, challenging and defending middleweight title holder Dricus du Plessis.
As it stands, Chimaev is a 2-1 favorite who will leave Chicago as the new 185-pound champion next month.
But many suspect that Chechnya gas tanks may not be able to withstand Duplesis’s unforgiving pace and pressure. Once upon a time, Dillashaw leaned towards “DDP” with a highly anticipated title tilt, but that all changed after Dillashaw introduced “Borz” to a former Applied Mathematics teacher.
“When I first saw the fight, I chose Doricus du Plessis to win for his cardio,” Dillashaw said on an Overdog podcast. “But now, after introducing Kamza to Sam Karabitta, my overall predictions have changed. Chimaev is doing it now. And I think he has an amazingly good gas tank for his next fight.
Dillashaw believes Khamzat Chimaev will become a “different animal” at UFC 319
For the past 35 years, coaching and coaching from Yoruba Linda, California, “Coach Cal” has dedicated his time and expertise to help fighters with complications related to overtraining, weight loss and recovery.
“Sam Carabitta has some killers in the garage. He does all his strength and conditioning in the garage. That’s amazing,” continued Dillashaw. “It’s like a rocky style of training. So Chimaev is doing it now. He will train the right way, improve his weight and make his aerobic workout even better.”
“I introduced Chimeh to Sam Carabita… It’s the guy who gave me my brother’s doctorate of science and everything I’m talking about right now. Chimeh is with him.
