The Los Angeles have been injured this season, but utility man Quique Hernandez’s elbow complications could potentially be on the sidelines for the remainder of 2025.
After landing at IL in the beginning of July, it was shelved with almost a month of Hernandez. Manager Dave Roberts recently touched on the length the team went through to try and bring fan favorites back to diamonds.

Measures like cortisone shots, non-invasive rehabilitation procedures, and rest do not appear to work to keep a 33-year-old child active. Roberts argued that there was nothing definitive about returns before the season was over.
“We certainly don’t have any guarantees, but we hope he’ll come back,” Roberts said Monday.
This season, Hernandez has hit .195/.259/.367 with an OPS of .626. He is an above average defender, with defensive run saving a score of 3 on 2 bases and ranked 19th among active second basemen in 83 innings at the location.
Another major asset in Hernandez’s game is his ability to turn things into another level in October.
After hitting .230 in 48 appearances during the 2020 season, Hernandez had 10 World Series RBIs.
Last season, Hernandez had a huge struggle in the first half of the year, finishing in 2024 with an OPS of .229 batting average and .654. In October, Utility Man was a hit with .294/.357/.451 with OPS at .808.
His flexibility in defensive and clutch performance during the postseason will be a huge loss if Hernandez doesn’t get healthy, but he hopes that the fan favorites can return before the start of another postseason run.
