Following the 2024-25 season, the Kings parted ways with general manager Monte McNair. Additionally, the team fired manager Mike Brown after 31 games this past season. Doug Christie took over as interim head coach.
Christe was eventually hired as full-time head coach on May 1st. The Kings also hired Scott Perry as their new general manager. NBA insider Jake Fisher says there hasn’t been a shortage of rumbling since Perry was hired. Fisher hopes Sacramento will “measure” Demar DeRozan’s trade market this offseason.

The 2024-25 season was Demar Derozan’s 16th year in the NBA and his first 16th year. After the 2023-24 season, Sacramento acquired DeRozan from the Bulls in a three-team deal. This was done via a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade. Over this past season, Delozan has started 77 of Sacramento’s 82 games. He averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest. The 35-year-old has averaged over 20 points per game for 12 consecutive seasons.
Despite his consistency over the past decade, the king was able to say goodbye to Demar Delozan. NBA insider Jake Fisher reported that new GM Scott Perry will “measure” Delozan’s trade market this offseason. Delozan still produces at a high level, but his years left in the league are limited. Are the Kings trying to say goodbye to DeRozan after a season?
There is no guarantee that the Kings will replace this offseason with DeMarde Rozan. New GM Scott Perry was able to decide that Derozan was a key piece on their roster and not to trade him. However, Jake Fisher believes Perry will explore the veteran forward trade options. The team is keen to make another postseason after the 2006-2022 drought. Is Demar Derozan’s trade the right move for the King? We’ll wait and see what GM Scott Perry has.
