The Dallas Mavericks are finally rising after hitting the bottom of the rock.
The past few weeks have not been easy for the Dallas Mavericks. At one point, their injury crisis became so bad that they had to confiscate the game with legitimate concerns that they might run out of players.
The cavalry arrived on the return of Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis was praised for his desire to simply return to court rather than sit down to give up the season.
In doing so, Davis helped the Mavericks start winning the game again, injecting belief and confidence throughout the franchise.
Former Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is on a roller coaster ride in his first season with the Dallas Mavericks.
Throughout his career, he knows Anthony Davis as a rival. Now he enjoys the experience of playing with him. On March 29th, he helped the Dallas Mavericks win the Chicago Bulls 120-119.
Speaking at a postgame press conference, when asked how Thompson was going with Davis, he commented, “I think we’re 4-0, I think that’s a good indicator,” pointing to the Mavericks’ new star and perfect record for the lineup.
Thompson had more positive words about the 10x All-Star.
“We’ve got a really deep, talented team. One day, Kylie will also return to the lineup. It’s a special moment where we can share the ball again.”
Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison was a punching bag for NBA fans and analysts after the decision to trade Luka Donsic.
Recently, even former Mavs star Jalen Brunson said how the “Fire Nico” chant from fans must be acting as a major distraction for the team.
Harrison’s reputation was abused, but he would rightly argue that his vision for the new look of the Mavericks had no fair chance.
And that’s not the case, Kyrie Irving has been injured until 2026.
However, Klay Thompson’s comments show that within the organization there is a real belief that Mavericks has a strong roster, and that Davis Trade might still do well for them.
It’s a huge gamble, but the Mavericks have come a long way from the call to shut down and tank for the season.
Currently they are No. 10th in the Western Conference and essentially have a free hit in the postseason. There’s no hope there.
This leads to a summer where they can afford to brighten up, rather than being depressed, which buys Nico Harrison’s time and builds his belief that he may still be in the right move.
