The Celtics are home to Game 2 in the East semi-finals on Wednesday night. New York stole Game 1 from OT’s Boston 108-105. As a team, the Celtics went 15-60 over the arc. There are no NBA playoff records 45 threes.

In Game 1, Boston’s Christaps Porzingis played only 13 minutes. He missed the second half with a non-covid illness. Coach Joe Matzla said it could be the same virus that Porzingis had earlier this season. The Boston injury report lists Kristapsporzingis, who is listed as a possible Game 2 on Wednesday night.

During the 2024-25 regular season, Kristaps Porzingis played in 42 Celtics 82 games. He missed the first 17 games of the season due to an ankle injury in the NBA Finals. The 29-year-old needed off-season surgery to repair ankle tendons. In late February, Kristaps Porzingis missed eight consecutive games due to upper respiratory tract illness. Porzingis returned to Boston in mid-March.

In his first five games, returning from illness, the big man averaged 24.4 points and shot 59% off the field. Throughout six games in the 2025 playoffs, Porzinigs averaged 10.0 points per contest. He’s 2-17 over the arc and is shooting 32% off the field. Joe Mazzola believes Porzingis is still battling upper respiratory tract disease since returning in mid-March. He pointed out how Porzingis works to fight through it.

However, Tuesday night’s Game 1 was too much for him. The Celtics list Porzingis, which is likely to be in Game 2. Boston needs a victory even against the Series vs. New York on Wednesday. Check if the Celtics will monitor the minutes of Kristaps Porzingis in Game 2. The team has two big, capable men out of the bench. Al Horford played 34 minutes, while Luke Cornett played 17 minutes in Game 1. How effective will Christapus Porzingis be in Game 2 as he is fighting illness?
