Bradley Beal is expected to form with the La Clippers after two seasons at the Phoenix Suns, and the Clippers are good for Beal, so behind-the-scenes investment should pay dividends.
The Los Angeles Clippers had perhaps the best offseason on any NBA team.
Just a few months after taking Nicola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets to seven games, they drafted Yannick Conan Niederhauser, signed free agent Brook Lopez, traded with John Collins, and picked up Bradley Beal in the shopping market.
Their only big loss was Norman Powell, but they should bolster their defense and interior play with Collins and Lopez, regaining the lost offense in Beer.
Beer had two poor seasons with the Phoenix Suns, but one key factor should help him return to form in LA.
The Clippers seem to have changed that since signing Kauhi Leonard in 2019, but have been undermined by injuries and incompetent play.
Leonard’s prolonged injuries have been managed, so he’s fully healthy in the postseason, with older players like James Harden and Lopez clearly having faith in the Clippers’ ability to extend their careers.
Beer wasn’t a photo of the consistency of recent seasons, but Los Angeles is expected to make the most of him.
“The teams that invested most in everything about the medical and training staff, and all of that teams, are absolutely the Clippers,” Sam Bassy said. “They did an amazing job of making sure they have all their recovery tools and everything they need.”
Beale has been a scapegoat of the Suns’ failures over the past two seasons, but he averaged 17.6 points on 40.7% shooting from the Deep, proving he is still a good scorer.
His biggest concern is his availability.
“Bradley Beal has played 53 games over the past two years,” explained Vecenie. “He played 50 in 2023, 40 in 2022, 50 in 2021, and 57 in 2020. He played 77, 82 and 82 before that, but he is the reality of the Bradley Beer experience at this point. Court.”
Between Beal, Harden and Leonard, the Clippers have three players, and they have players who can lead the team with points.
Between Ivica Zubac, Kris Dunn, Lopez and Leonard, the Clippers have four players.
When Leonard inevitably misses a series of games, they can float. They proved so much last season. Even if both Leonard and Beale missed a fair amount of time, the Clippers still have the talent to stay healthy and are expected to take a conservative approach to the regular season before launching for the playoffs.
Last year, Leonard didn’t even make his debut until January. While it’s not expected that anything with beer would be that dramatic, the fact in question is that the team is built to withstand injuries.
