The LA Lakers have many interesting names that they’re trying to make an impression in the Summer League.
By name alone, Bronnie James has been drawing attention to the LA Lakers in the 2025 Summer League, like 2025.
This time, he’s more calm, more confident and has earned praise. And he’s not the only one. Cole Swider’s prolific scoring has Lakers fans abuzzing and wondering what his potential is.
Another interesting name is Darius Buzzley, a former round draft pick with the Utah Jazz in 2019, but was traded for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Darius Buzley helped the New Orleans Pelicans in a compelling 94-81 victory on July 12th.
Bazley contributed to the double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He added four assists, especially five blocks.
Cole Suider also doubled with 21 points and 10 rebounds, but he had no blocks on the defense.
Bazley’s outstanding performance attracted praise from Lakers summer league coach Lindsay Harding.
Harding told the Lakers Nation that she was very impressed with all his defensive capabilities.
She said:
“He does a great job from the ball. Sometimes the defender is great on the ball, not from the ball, and vice versa. He can do it all.
“He’s long, we needed him for every position and they were huge blocks.”
Darius Buzley has NBA experience with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers and the Utah Jazz. He played in seven playoff games with OKC.
However, his career has passed and he hopes to cast a spell in China last season and reset his career this summer.
He told Lakers Nation:
Bazley was asked what he wanted to show to the other 29 teams he might be viewing with the Lakers.
“If they come to pick me up, I can defend at a high level, knock down shots, I’m progressing with my shots.
“My development as a player is more critical and leads to more offensive.”
