Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Donsic currently holds international duties.
With Eurobasket 2025 already underway, Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will be featured in Slovenia.
Doncic has worked hard on his terms, but his play for Eurobasket risks injury ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.
After all, Doncic suffered a injury to a fan during the exhibition game prior to the competition. So the Lakers might think Luka is fine with her summer away.
Prior to the Eurobasket 2025 opener, Lakers general manager Rob Perinka traveled to Poland along with owner Johnny Bass to show his support for Don Sic.
During the trip, Perinka was asked about his honest thoughts about Don Sic leaving the Lakers for the summer.
“The problem with zero. That’s what we believe. Their executives have been great for the Lakers organization and their leadership,” Perinka told BasketNews.
He added: “It was a joint partnership with them, and Greg St. Jean, one of the Los Angeles Lakers coaches, was added to the staff.
“So, we’ve continued to support Luka throughout his career, so he can do great things for the Lakers and Slovenian national team.”
It’s great to see executives show support for their star players. Denver Nuggets executives did the same for Nikola Djokic ahead of the Eurobasket 2025 opener.
Currently, Doncic is focusing on playing in Slovenia. However, NBA insider Brian Windhorst has not seen Don Sic and Slovenia pass the group stage.
If Windhorst’s prediction turns out to be correct, Luka’s next step is to focus on the 2025-26 NBA season with the Lakers.
Even coach Greg St. Jean believes Donsic’s work is not finished yet. Certainly, he has gone through transformation, but he still needs to maintain this physique.
If he can do that, Donsic would ultimately be able to completely shut his critics down.
