The Los Angeles Lakers allowed Colswiders to shine in the 2025 NBA Summer League.
After not being drafted during the 2022 NBA Draft, Cole Swider is still hoping for a consistent role in the franchise.
Swider had an impressive run with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2025 NBA Summer League, but the organization did not offer NBA training camp.
It didn’t take long for Swider to get praise from the Lakernation. However, Swider’s defense or lack of it was a major concern for some fans.
Purple and Gold appear to have similar ideas about Swider as he allowed him to walk. Well, Swider found a team, but it doesn’t exist in the NBA.
“Sharpshooter Cole Swider is approaching a deal with Turkiye’s Anadolu Efes,” NBA insider Marc Stein wrote to X.
He added: “After stints with the Lakers, Heat, Piston and Raptors, Swider is taking part in the increase in the NBAERS moving into the Euroleague and is poised to play for former Suns manager Igor Kokoskov.”
Playing in the NBA must have been a dream for Swider, but it is understandable why the team refrained from offering him a permanent role.
Certainly, Swider has been significantly improved as it has not been drafted in 2022. He did an insane amount of work to improve the game in the G League.
As a result, Swider has become an incredible scorer, at least in the G League. Unfortunately, Swider couldn’t carry that form over and over again to the NBA.
After all, in 35 NBA games from four different teams, Swider averaged 3.1 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.
Perhaps another important factor that holds him in is his age. Swider is already 26 years old, and it is unlikely that NBA teams will use their resources before unproven aging.
