Once the NBA Summer League is over, the teams are beginning to fill in the roster gap.
The LA Lakers moved to sign one of the Golden State Warriors standouts in the Summer League.
Undrafted rookie Chris Mannon was impressed in Las Vegas and was particularly impressive in his matchup with the Cavaliers.
A strong all-round performance led Manon to score 17 points, five rebounds and two assists, plus four steels and two blocks.
Shams Charania reports that Chris Manon will sign a two-way deal with La Lakers.
He states: “The Los Angeles Lakers are planning to sign 7-footer Christian Coroco and forward Chris Mannon on a two-way NBA deal.”
Chris Mannon is a security guard who played college in Vanderbilt. He averaged 9.0 points in the Summer League and grew stronger as the competition progressed.
Manon played against the Lakers, offering another all-around performance, posting eight points, three steels and two blocks.
He is seen making a block for Lakers sophomore Dalton Knecht, who struggled in the summer league.
Ahead of the tournament in Vegas, Warriors coach Lane Wilson expressed confidence in Chris Mannon’s abilities.
Wilson was quoted via SI. “He’s a game changer. He can influence the game in many other ways, causing live ball turnovers on the open floor, which turns for us into an automatic transition bucket.
“It really helps you turn that game around.”
The Lakers thought it was enough to make Manon want to see him better.
Christian Coroco also won his return after making progress last season. He also managed to be impressed during the summer league.
