Leeds is preparing themselves for a life in the Premier League and this summer can define whether they can avoid relegation to the championship on their first attempt. There’s money to spend, but you’ll also need to raise funds to maximize Daniel Fark’s team.
In recent weeks, it has been revealed that Leeds is about to sell fire goalkeeper Iran Meslier, not the first team player to depart before the end of the summer transfer window.
Another player who played a significant amount for Leeds in the championship is Mateo Joseph, and like Meslier, he could be in the chopping block this summer.
Joseph gained interest from Real Betis in January, and according to El Pelotazo (via Leedsunited.news), La Liga Club is willing to make another move on the Spanish striker in the summer.
Over the winter, the £8 million deal was almost finished for Joseph, but on this occasion Leeds will demand more. At this stage, their asking prices are reported to range from £11 million to £12.75 million, emphasizing that they view the 21-year-old as a valuable player to them in the Premier League.
But it’s not equally surprising that Joseph leaves Leeds in the summer. He didn’t have the highest output in the championship, but he only had three goals and three assists in 35 league appearances this season. And with Joel Pillow being the starting striker, there is a possibility that he could make a deal to raise funds for a new signature.
It remains to be seen whether Leeds has decided to sell Joseph this summer, but given Betis’ interest, it would not be surprising if he left Elland Road.
