Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has become the oldest player to be voted MVP after the awards announced on Wednesday.

James, 40, finished sixth in the league’s most valuable player award poll in his 22nd NBA season, only to Shy Gilgauss Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetocomo, Jason Tatum and Donovan Mitchell.

The forwards totaled 16 points with 13th and 4th place votes as the Lakers finished third in the Western Conference on a 50-32 record.

James played 70 regular-season games, averaging 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assisted the game with 51% shots from the field and 38% off the arc.

Who is the oldest player to receive an MVP vote?

Of course, it belongs to LeBron James. Michael Jordan averaged 22.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game for Washington Wizard, replacing Michael Jordan, who finished 13th in the MVP voting in the 2022 season at the age of 39.

James, 40 years and 3 months old, has enjoyed the longest life in the history of sports, competing at the highest level in the history of sports since the day he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003.

Despite the fact that retirement seemed increasingly close for the four-time NBA champion, he shows no signs of slowing down.

When was LeBron James last won the MVP?

James has not won an MVP since the 2012-13 season. This was his 10th year in the league, averaging 26.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists, and a career-best in field goal percentage (56.5) and 3-point percentage (40.3).

The Miami Heat won 66 games and did so to put together an incredible 27-game victory, winning the championship as James was named Finals MVP for the second year in a row.

He averaged 26 points, eight rebounds and six assists in league history, making him the first player to shoot more than 55% off the floor.

It is widely regarded as his peak and the best campaign he has ever put together. James scored more than 40% in 90 of the 99 games he played that year, and never scored under 13.

He finished third in the league in total points, eighth in assists, 16th in defensive rebounds, 12th in steals, 5th in field goal percentage, and 10th in initial offensive winning share. Earn stocks.

Just one vote made James not become the unanimous MVP as James went with New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony at the top spot.

How many MVPs did LeBron James win?

Throughout his 22-year career in the league, James has won four MVP awards. He finished first in 2009, second in 2010, third in 2012, and fourth in 2013.

He and the Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell are the only player in league history to win four MVPs in five years.

James needs one more to connect Russell and Jordan at age five.
