Luka Doncic continues to attract global attention wherever he plays.

His recognition has expanded significantly after joining the Los Angeles Lakers through Megatrade, becoming one of the NBA’s biggest media attractions.

Luka Doncic’s star power extends beyond professional basketball to international competition.

During the Eurobasket prep game, Donsic’s appearance created unprecedented demand and financial investments from the host country.

Kasperssiplas, general secretary of the Latvian basketball federation, has revealed significant costs associated with the formation of a warm-up game featuring Don Sic’s Slovenian team.

The Union has invested around 1 million euros in the game against Lithuania and Slovenia.

The costs came mainly from ensuring Donsic’s participation, including covering travel expenses in Slovenia.

However, Cipruss thought that investments were needed to maximize attendance and revenue.

“We paid for the Slovenian plane ticket. That was the only way Luka Donsic came. Without him we would have sold 60-70% of the tickets. With him the hall was sold out. People were waiting in front of the hotel for signs.

“I don’t know exactly how much the tournament costs, but it was a business decision. If you want the best players, you need to invest something.”

Investments proved valuable in terms of attendance, and fans created an unprecedented scene in Latvian basketball history.

In advance, the Serbian basketball president said that Donsic’s presence would help sell 100,000 tickets.

Donsic played effectively in court against Latvia, scoring 26 points before sitting for most of the second half due to concerns of injury.

His reduced playing time did not reduce the crowd’s enthusiasm. Latvian supporters witnessed Donsic’s performance and enjoyed the full experience while celebrating the team’s 100-88 victory.

Donsic could attract similar attention through the Eurobasket competition, with Latvia serving as one of the host countries.

However, during the tournament, Donsic and his team will play in Poland and join the same group as one of their favorites, France.

Therefore, Donsic’s continued health and Slovenia’s success in the tournament can ensure a sell-out.
