LeBron James goes to the brass tack about where things went wrong for the Warriors in 2016.
The 2016 NBA Finals will not be the top of the table due to excitement. The Golden State Warriors entered the NBA Finals that year as defending champions with a record 73-9 record.
And in the first few games they looked like freight trains that were similar all year round. At the end of Game 4, the Warriors took a 3-1 lead.
But famously, the lead turns out to be foolish money as the Cleveland Cavaliers lose three games in a row to win the NBA Championship.
It was a great comeback from the Cavaliers, but an even more devastating collapse from the Warriors. And even LeBron James seemed surprised because he thought they were a better team.

LeBron James reminiscent of the 2016 NBA Finals with his latest episode of Mind The Game Podcast.
He admitted that the Golden State Warriors were a better team, but he and the Cavaliers had too much momentum after Game 5. They couldn’t compete with the Cavaliers’ upward swing.
“If anything happened in Game 5, my peers believed that what I was saying was something f****** would come true.
“There’s a clip in the locker room saying they’re ruined. They felt like a better team. We hit a pop of momentum and there was nothing we could do about it.”

For the Golden State Warriors, the path to victory in the 2016 NBA Finals was simple. It includes the Cavaliers when they build confidence and momentum.
Often these types of situations are about the mental aspects of the game rather than physical. Unfortunately, the Warriors didn’t have the mental fortitude to overcome the Cavaliers.
They will learn valuable lessons in this series. Since the losses in 2016, the Warriors are undefeated in Game 7.
Their recent victory comes as they beat the Houston Rockets in Game 7, which is crucial to advance to the second round a few weeks ago.
