LeBron James has raised a huge number for the LA Lakers, but winning Game 3 for the LA Lakers wasn’t enough.
The Minnesota Timberwolves knew that a big LeBron James game was coming. That was a case of whether they could handle it.
After 19 and 21 points in the opening two games, LeBron scored 38 in Game 3. The problem was that he couldn’t deliver to the LA Lakers as he normally would.
This meant that a record-breaking stage night was wasted for LeBron James, and his scoring magic ran off in the final minutes, with the Timberwolves taking a 2-1 series lead and progressing to an extremely 116-104 victory.
Earlier in the season, Lakers legend Byron Scott urged fans around the world to coordinate and watch LeBron James to understand the magnitude of what he is doing at his age.
LeBron James, now 40, is defiing the time he plays at the All-Star level highlighted in a 38-10-4 performance vs Minnesota.
And in doing so, he set a record in 1987, breaking the benchmark set by Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
LeBron’s 38 points was the highest point the 40-year-old player ever scored in the NBA playoffs.
Abdul-Jabbar won the Lakers’ 32 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics in 1987, helping the team win the title.
The defeat of LeBron James’ big night was annoyed by the Lakers and a topic of discussion on the team’s post-game show.
Lakers reporter Mike Bresnahan explained to the spectrum how LeBron’s record-breaking performance was the “sad part” of the Lakers’ loss and praised his “big effort” that was ultimately wasted.
Former Abdul-Jabbar championship-winning teammate James Worthy said he believes the 40-year-old will be even better.
“He’s locked up. LeBron is going to be there. That’s the rest of the people.
“He had a few sales and he is very dynamic about what he is doing and how he reads the situation.
“He had to step up and he did. He’s got to win the next game, so LeBron might even take his play and experience to another level.”
There was a quick turnaround to Game 4, and the Lakers wanted to tie the series down 2-2, and their performances had something positive.
The game was referring to expensive sales for failures by LeBron, even until the last few minutes he escaped from the Lakers.
Former Laker Byron Scott paid tribute to Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards. He helped retake the series lead by scoring 29 points.
