LeBron James has a lot to consider in the offseason after the La Lakers season is over.
The fiery La Lakers performance was not possible in Game 5. The team is competitive, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Timberwolves 4-1 series will close the Lakers season in their first round for the second year in a row.
And now, star player LeBron James has to consider his future.
Aside from making glaring comments about the Lakers’ plans, which he mentioned Anthony Davis’ sudden departure, LeBron James dealt with his own future.
He says he can’t guarantee what he wants to do next season. At 40, most players have retired and he hasn’t played at the same level.
Speaking to the reporter, James says he has to personally discuss it and think about how long he wants his career.
He said: “I don’t know. I don’t have an answer to it. I’ll sit down with my family, my wife and my support group and talk through it and see what happens.
“Converse with yourself about the amount of time you want to continue playing. I know.”
La Lakers legend James Worthy has admitted to the superstar’s comments on the Lakers’ post-game show, and has admitted there is a dilemma.
Worthy says he thinks LeBron is considering all the options. It cites a decline in the championship window, including whether they want to leave the Lakers and play for another team.
Speaking to Spectrum, Worthy explained Lebron’s thoughts and commented:
“Can I bring something big here to play with Luka and me?
“Is there a place I would like to play to get my fifth championship?”
“That’s what he’s thinking.”
LeBron has won four NBA championships in his career. This came with the LA Lakers in 2020.
The team acquired Luka Doncic during the season. This is a wise long-term move for the franchise, but it created flaws on the roster this season and was revealed in the playoffs.
LeBron would want to see what the Lakers are planning in free agency, but as valuable as it is, he could also try to explore his own other paths if he feels the time is right.
