LeBron James couldn’t harbor his excitement after a rare moment from his La Lakers teammate.
The Los Angeles Lakers played for the first time in Dallas since the Mavericks decided to trade franchise stars in unexpected ways.
Clearly, all eyes were on Luka Donsic during his incredible return. As expected, Donsic was emotional at the start of the game, but managed well by dropping a 45-point performance in Dallas.
While Luka departed, star guard Austin Reeves was kept relatively quiet by the Mavericks’ defense. Despite being an off-night, one moment on Reaves surprised fans and his teammates.
In the second quarter of the Lakers vs. Mavericks contest, everything was tied up 40-40. Dorian Finney Smith tried to move the Lakers ahead with a three-point attempt.
The DFS long distance shots were not able to connect, but Austin Reeves flew off for a putback dunk. It was truly an incredible game.
Because I couldn’t believe Reaves had made a dunk. After all, AR15 is little known for its athleticism in the courts.
On top of Reeves, LeBron James and Luca Donsic were equally surprised by Reeves’ dunk as the dynamic duo surprised the whole face of a surprising expression.
Despite being an undrafted player, Reaves is currently a purple and gold All-Star caliber star. Clearly, if he hadn’t had the support of his teammates, Reeves would never have reached it before.
Speaking of which, 40-year-old James assured him that he would praise Reaves’ incredible dunk during his post-match interview.
“Austin putback? That was crazy.
“It was certainly crazy. We loved it,” James said when asked about surprise play.
The Lakers have a top six seed in the loaded West as they have a chance to be the third seed by winning one of the next two games before the end of the regular season.
