LeBron James’ former teammate is set to make his way to the open market, but he may be tempted by a move to the New York Knicks.
Now we’re seeing a lot of veteran players sign with the team in the final stretch of the NBA Free Agency. Several players have agreed to acquire and join the new team.
The former All-Star made a decision after the Milwaukee Bucks abandoned Damian Lillard. Lillard chose to return to the Portland Trail Blazers.
As for Bradley Beale, he signed with La Clippers after his turbulent stint, which ended with the Phoenix Suns’ acquisition.
Marcus Smart was also acquired by the Wizard. After a talk with Luka Doncic, Smart joined the LA Lakers and worked with him and Lebron James.
But is LeBron James ready to reunite with his former teammate, a potential buyer? That’s possible, but the New York Knicks have something to say about it.
According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, Kevin Love is the one who will soon agree to the acquisition. After being traded with the Utah Jazz in the Norman Powell trade, Love is looking for another opportunity.
As long as this acquisition occurs, love needs to know what he will be next. Fisher has appointed New York and Los Angeles to two cities he wants to play.
“Using usually isn’t really known until the next situation is fully determined. I don’t think I’m going to sign the paperwork to give up the guaranteed millions of dollars until the next situation is lined up.
“Together with Kevin Love, for my understanding, he wants to be in a really big, attractive market… a New York, Los Angeles type situation.”
In New York, the Knicks are most likely to land love, given Brooklyn’s nets moving in a younger direction.
As for Los Angeles, the Clippers are at their biggest, and the Lakers are still trying to add it to the roster.
If LeBron James wants to reunite with Kevin Love, all he has to do is wait until Love agrees to the acquisition and contacts him.
The Knicks may be an attractive destination, but the opportunity he will reunite with championship-winning player LeBron James may be too good to turn down for Kevin Love.
Love and James worked together for four years as teammates for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The two stars have made their fourth consecutive NBA Finals. The two are still friends.
Is Love a strong contributor to La Lakers? Given that Maxi Clever plays a similar role, there are concerns about fit.
On top of that, the Lakers must gain love by giving up another player. Or they have to trade and throw away their pay so they don’t hit hard caps.
