Aston Villa reportedly had several internal discussions about the potential relocation move of Manchester City star Kevin de Bruin.
Belgian International is nearing the end of its contract with Man City and has made him a free agent this summer.
De Bruyne himself recently confirmed that he will leave Etihad Stadium at the end of his current contract.
Sky Sports reports that the Villa is interested in Debruin, following Chelsea linking him by Simon Phillips.
The 33-year-old may no longer be at the peak of his power, but he is one of the best offensive midfielders of his generation and won almost everything to win in the game.
Its quality and experience will make De Bruyne an attractive option for many top teams.
Can Kevin De Bruin stay in the Premier League?
De Bruyne has interest from the MLS club, according to a report from Sky Sports, but appears to have been able to see the veteran playmaker staying in the UK.
While Villa may feel he has an unfinished business in Chelsea, it could be an attractive destination for him as they continue to make great progress under Unai Emery.
De Bruin was at Stamford Bridge as a young man, but had little opportunity to play for the Blues before he was sold to Wolfsberg.
From there, De Bruyne showed his world-class potential and urged the city to spend a ton of money signing him in the summer of 2015.
It remains to be seen whether De Bruyne will be able to influence the game at this level regularly, but it is certainly great to think he will not leave the Premier League yet.
Whether it’s a Villa or Chelsea, Debruis could at least be an option for a good team player, offering a vast wealth of experience in the dressing room after winning six Premier League titles and the Champions League in his career at Manchester.
