The chief of Manchester United reportedly met in person with Ipswichtown striker Liam Dellup, who has also been appointed Chelsea.
The talented 22-year-old was impressed in the Premier League this season. And it seems likely that a bigger club will snap him soon.
Ipswich has been relegated to the championship, so it appears there will be a big opportunity for the club to plummet for Delap.
According to Athletic, that means Delap’s contract has a £30 million release clause, and Man UTD has already met with players ahead of a potential summer move.
England Under 21 International is believed to have been granted permission to travel to Manchester for talks, but Chelsea and other clubs are also worth watching.

Delap appears to be the only new addition to the frontline of Reuben Amorim, with the athletic also mentioning the advances of wolf forward Matthew Cunya.
If Red Devils can bring in both Cunha and Delap, they should be in a very strong position next season, even if there’s still a lot to do.
This united team has some weak areas, but the offense is quickly there with an urgent priority.
Delap looks like a clear upgrade to Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, but Cunha is ideal to replace Marcus Rashford and Antony’s loaned Misfits.
Do Liam Delap need to choose Man Utd or Chelsea?
Delap has to carefully select his next move, and both United and Chelsea have certain risks.
Many players have recently retreated at Old Trafford, but some have improved considerably after leaving the club.
It should probably point Dellup towards Chelsea.
Still, although there have been many upheavals at Stamford Bridge in recent years, it is still not clear whether their youth-led projects are really taking off.
