Leicester City has long stood out in the Championship as one of the clubs that can rebuild a strong team even after relegation.
Under Marti Cifuentes, the fox shows signs that it is ready to seek promotion.
One name in particular is to attract the headlines of Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatau.
Already early in the season, his performance urged former Premier League man Lee Hendry to warn him that if Leicester doesn’t prepare himself, big clubs will call.
Fatau, just 21 years old, was very impressed with the opening week of the season.
The winger scored two goals and provided one assist in six appearances for the fox this season.
Leicester City stars leaned to leave the club
Hendry told the world of football league: “He started the season well, he’s the kind of player you can see one of the Premier League clubs taking him with him.
“The position he plays and the way he starts, you know that he will be a really big player for Leicester.
“So they (Lester) will have to really stand up to themselves because I think it’s definitely going to happen if he continues this amazing form.”
Leicester lost many first-team stars during his recent summer transfer period. But they held Fatau, which now looks like an important decision.
His current format reinvigorates hopes for a push for promotion for the club, and his performance against Birmingham City and the Charlton Athletics stand out.
Abdul Fatau showed his talent at King Power Stadium
Despite missing a large part of last season due to injuries, he already shows his ability to score goals and annoy defenders.
Hendry’s warning is loud and clear. If Fatau continues at this level, he will receive the offer. Leicester must stand for himself.
That probably means that the club’s vision remains compelling for a potential bid, thinking hard about what it takes to maintain him (contractually and financially);
