Leeds United have had another big time next season following the success of their 100-point championship title and are now a big pond tiny fish in regards to the transfer market.
To avoid an immediate relegation from the Premier League, the whites may splash cash to strengthen their teams, but they cannot compete for transfers with the Division’s top teams, as they did in tier 2.
The biggest trend transfer story in the Premier League at this point perfectly shows the champions line up the movements of European superstars.
Liverpool is working to finalize a contract to sign Bayer Leverkusen, which will attack midfielder Florian Wiltz, reportedly for 150 million euros (£125 million), with Fabrizio Romano adding that Germany International wants only the red.
The 22-year-old offensive midfielder has scored 16 goals and 14 assists in all competitions on the German side during the 2024/25 campaign, and could surprise his one in the Premier League with Arne Slot’s team in his next term.
The new offensive midfielder could also be featured on the Leeds agenda heading to the summer window, but after Brenden Arson’s championship struggle, they are not going to compete for a signature like Wirtz.
Why Leeds needs a new offensive midfielder
USA International was a go-to option for Daniel Fark in the 10th position throughout the second tier season, but not enough to suggest that he was better than last time in the Premier League with White.
Aaronson has produced one goal and three assists in 36 games on top flights during the 2022/23 campaign, and in his rather average form in front of goals in the championship, this time it doesn’t suggest that things will be different.
The American attacker scored a chance of 11.43 xg in 46 appearances in the second tier, but only nine times the back of the net was found.
Aaronson’s form against the top team in the championship also shows why he wants a lot and is not ready to step up into the Premier League.

As you can see from the table above, the 24-year-old DUD did not deliver or support one goal in 10 games against other teams in the top six by the end of the regular season.
These statistics and his overall misperformance in front of the goal suggest that Leeds will need more quality at that position ahead of the Premier League campaign, so they will have to plummet for one of the reported transfer targets, Gabriel Sarah.
Leeds United’s interest in Gabriel Sarah
Journalist Graeme Bailey revealed earlier this month that Galatasaree’s attacking the midfielder is an option for Leeds United to head to the summer transfer window.
The left footed wizard left Norwich two years later in the UK and signed the Turkish giant last summer.
Speaking to LeedsunitedNews, Bailey said: “He’s on the radar (Sara). Leeds saw him. They knew everything about him in Norwich. He was great. He’s not cheap.
Sarah is reportedly valued at 40 million euros (£33 million), among other interests from Aston Villa, by Galatasaray, and it is still unclear whether white people are willing to pay that much for Brazilian dynamos.
However, Fark must urge the 49ers to attack Super Ligster’s big money transfer contract, as it could become a version of the German manager himself at Elland Road.
Why Gabriel Sarah becomes Leeds United’s Florian Wiltz
Sarah has not come as a genuine European superstar like the German sense, but as an additional £100 million, he can become a mini version of the club’s own Wiltz.
Like the wizard of Leverkusen, the former Norwich City star is a versatile offensive midfielder who can play in the middle or left flank, with the ability to regularly contribute to goals and assists.
During his time in the championship with the Canarys last season, Sarah proved he could provide Wirtz-esque figures in the final third from his central or mid-offensive role.
As you can see from the graphics above, the Brazilian star comes in as a massive upgrade for Aaronson, considering each return at the top of the pitch, especially the return at the target and XG ratio.
Celebrated as “outstanding” by former boss David Wagner, Sarah proved that he can score great goals and make a regular big impact on the top end of the pitch, as Wirtz did for Leberkusen.
Norwich’s performance of the 25-year-old star won him a move to Turkish giant Galatasaray, and he helped them win the league in his first year with the club.

As you can see in the table above, his goalscoring form fell for Galatasaray, but he retained his extraordinary creative qualities and created a “big opportunity” for 12 of this season.
Now, if Leeds could bring him back to his score to go with his creative skills, they could get the answer to Florian Whartz by signing a midfielder who attacks with the potential to hit double digits each for goals and assists, like Canary in the 2023/24 campaign.
Now, from Fark and the 49ers, he’s persuading an impressive star to switch to Elland Road to strengthen their team in the summer window.
