Leeds has already completed the signature of Jaka Bijol, but he may not be the only central defender to move to Elland Road this summer.
There are rumours that Pascal Struijk will be able to leave Leeds this summer, and while Bijol may be considered his replacement, there is a desire to add even more depth to the central defense.
It is clear that Leeds needs substantial reinforcement and that it is important for them to sign players who have experienced on the top flight of English football in order to build a team that can avoid relegation from the Premier League. Igor Giulio is the one who fits the bill.
Leeds sets the view on Brighton defender Igor Giulio
As reported by El Diario Vasco (via Leedsunited.news), Brighton is open to selling Igor, signed by Fiorentina two years ago. The 27-year-old, who has only featured 16 times in all competitions last season, is nominated by Leeds, but also has competition with Crystal Palace, Wolves and Real Sociedad from La Ligaside.
Strangely enough, Igor revealed earlier this year that he dreamed of traveling to Liverpool. It also urged Chelsea target Joan Pedro to move if he left Brighton.
“I go to the Liverpool team and I think he’ll fit perfectly in Liverpool, because I always dream of playing for Liverpool and I’m going there.”
It remains to be seen whether Leeds is making Igor’s moves, but he is probably someone in their price range. For now, he is one of many targets considered in the Elland Road office.
