Leeds United reportedly were given green light to close the potential £34 million transfer transaction for Roman striker Artem Dovbyk.
The 28-year-old has had a prolific career for various clubs around Europe, but he has yet to test himself in the Premier League.
Most recently, Dovbyk scored 17 goals in all Roma competitions last season, following from 24 in all Girona competitions last season.
Now, Leeds claims that Leeds is in a strong position to sign the prolific Ukraine international as they are trying to bring together teams that can survive in the Premier League.
Leeds needs a strong transfer window this summer
Leeds has just returned to top flights to win promotions, but we know that all three of the three newly promoted clubs from last season have returned straight.
It’s important that Daniel Fark is given the necessary signatures to make Leeds a proper Premier League team again, and Dovbyk looks like a good option.
Even if Dovbyk has not yet played at this level, he has certainly shown throughout his career that he can adapt to British football and contribute double digits to goals.
It could go a long way in helping LUFC survive demolition in upcoming campaigns.
Dovbyk to replace Bamford in Leeds?
The report also claims that Patrick Bamford is ready to leave Elland Road this summer.
This makes it even more important to sign a new striker, and it looks like Dovbyk could make him a great alternative.
