According to the report, Leeds United hopes to sign the “fantastic” defender this summer as a junior furpo replacement.
The era of Firpo on Elland Road may be coming to an end
Firpo played a key role in the Leeds promotion from last season’s championship, with Dominicus Republic International scoring four goals and 10 assists in 32 league appearances.
But now it appears that the era of left-back on Elland Road is nearing the end. The 28-year-old’s contract is expected to expire this summer, and he’s been attracting attention from people like Lazio and soon Premier League rival Everton.
Last week there was a report that Daniel Fark’s side had filed an offer for a contract to extend the defender’s stay in Yorkshire, but a more recent update shows that FIRPO is set to depart, indicating that whites are identifying Premier League defenders as potential alternatives.

Leeds is considering rushing for “incredible” strikers to become their new wood
Leeds is reportedly considering a potential star move to become Daniel Fark’s Chris Wood.
According to a Football Insider report, Leeds is currently aiming to sign Liverpool defender Costas Timikas.
As the side of the Arne Slot makes a move to sign AFC Bournemouth left back Milos Cerkez, they won’t stand in the Timicus way if they receive the right offer and they could open the door for a move to Elland Road.
Transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke also provided further updates on Firpo’s future, saying:Leeds is likely to leave for a new left back in the window this summer, with Junior Furpo leaving… (Tsumika) can come straight to that team and improve. ”
Tsimikas could be a “great” Firpo alternative
The Greek defender didn’t play a particularly big role in Liverpool’s Premier League title victory, but although he appeared 18 times throughout the campaign, he was impressed by the Reds of the past, known as “fantastic” by journalist Ian Doyle.
As Leeds is trying to avoid relegation from top flights next season, it may be important to attract players with top-level experiences. The 29-year-old won the Man of the Match Award against RB Leipzig in the Champions League last October.
Liverpool’s ace ranks in the 90 perceptal, the 79th percentile of tackles and the 79th percentile of tackles when compared to other fullbacks over the past year, making it strong in take-out ownership.
Of course, it’s a shame to watch Firpo’s vacation given the role the defenders played in Leeds promotion last season, but the Tsimikas could be a solid replacement, and the £15 million fee won’t beat the bank.
