Iran Mesley had another tough season with Leeds goal. So it’s not surprising he can trade during the summer transfer period. He was dropped by manager Daniel Fark in recent weeks, but could lose even more noticeable ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and has not been ruled out by Premier League bound clubs apart.
With three matches in the championship season, Leeds is clear at the location of automatic promotions, and apart from the slow collapse, they should return to the top division of English football. And if so, there are more claims to bring in new goalkeepers who will increase opportunities to avoid relegation.
And Leeds officials now seem to have settled on the players they think will give them this best chance.
Leeds moves in the summer to replace Angus Gunn with Messley
As reported by Football Insider (via Givemesport), Leeds is preparing for Norwich’s goalkeeper Angus Gunn’s move. The 29-year-old, who has concluded 15 times in Scotland, is out of contract at the end of the season, and at this stage he is not yet offered the opportunity to continue his stay on Carrow Road.
Leeds is a long-term adorable fan of cancer, which performed relatively well in the championship this season. And the fact that he can arrive as a free agent would make for an even more appealing signature in the face of the expected Premier League promotion.
It is still unclear whether Gunn will move to Elland Road in the summer, but if Norwich does not offer a new contract, the chances of that event certainly increase.
