Leeds United suffered yet another defeat yesterday afternoon, with Daniel Farke’s side now winning just one of their last eight games in all competitions.
Burnley became the latest side to stop the Whites from taking all three points, with goals from Leslie Ugochukwu and Lum Chaauna on the scoresheet for Scott Parker’s side.
It was a memorable trip to Turf Moor for Farke’s side, who currently sit just one point behind the Clarets in the Premier League table.
Given the recent lack of form, questions may begin to be asked about the current situation, as there is a dire need to find solutions to increase the chances of survival.
However, some questions will need to be directed to the board as many of the players are currently not at the level of a team that can remain in England’s top flight.
Aaronson’s disappointing performance against Burnley
In the Championship, midfielder Brenden Aaronson was often questioned for his lack of impact, often missing at key moments of matches.
The 24-year-old finished last season with nine goals and two assists, but many expected him to be included in the starting eleven instead upon his return to the Premier League.
However, although he has featured in all eight games so far and even started yesterday against Lancashire, he was unable to make a positive impact on the game.
Aaronson was sent off after 66 minutes and missed a big chance in the first half that could have given Farke’s side the lead.
Also, he won only 50% of the duels he took part in, recorded only 40 touches on the ball, and subsequently failed to provide the creative spark the team needed.
However, despite his performance, he was not the only player who failed to produce results, as other players also failed to make the most of the opportunities given to them against the Clarets.
Leeds star on loan after Burnley
It’s always going to be a disappointing day for Leeds and their fans after losing to one of their promotion rivals, but some of the games were just hard to swallow.
Losing is one thing, but many of the players struggled to live up to expectations, which led to many below-par outings, which clearly contributed to the loss.
Aaronson was just one of the few players to underperform, and a performance like this could put his starting role in jeopardy in the coming weeks.
However, he is not alone in this regard, as fellow attacker Jack Harrison rejoined the team in 2025/26, but once again failed to deliver.
The Englishman was a key figure in Los Blancos’ team until the year before the Premier League, but it is clear that he is no longer the player he once was.
Yesterday’s defeat saw Falke give him his first league start of the season, a decision that backfired given his lack of impact against the Clarets.
Harrison was replaced at the same time as Aaronson, but his performance was definitely poor, as evidenced by his on-field statistics.

He attempted seven crosses during his performance but was unable to convert any of them, and a similar story is told regarding his dribbling attempts.
The 28-year-old also missed big chances in front of goal and only made one pass into the final third, highlighting his lack of creativity at the moment.
But the statistic that best sums up his disastrous performance is that he was given the ball away 14 times yesterday and lost possession.
It was another memorable afternoon for Harrison and Leeds. Manager Farke desperately needed to find a solution to his side’s recent downturn in the Premier League.
It’s one of the most unforgiving divisions in the world, but the manager needs to work hard to improve his form and bring down the aforementioned duo if the club is to head in the right direction.
