Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope is reportedly targeted by Leeds United before the transfer period this summer.
Reports suggest that we will see some big moves from goalkeepers this summer as Newcastle is expected to seal off his long-term deal with Burnley shot stopper Jame Straford.
With Trafford expected to come in and replace Pope, that would certainly lead to a Magpie Ace trying to leave St. James Park for more play time.
According to a Yorkshire post, Leeds appears to be taking his seriousness, but Iranian Meslier appears to be a weak link on Daniel Fark’s side.
Whether Leeds will win a promotion or not, they will need a Messlier upgrade sooner or later.
Will James Trafford move to pave the way for Nick Pope to leave Newcastle for Leeds?
The Pope, valued at around £30 million, could be a great signing for Leeds as Leeds is looking to bolster its extremely important goalkeeping division.
Messley began to brighten up when he first moved to Elland Road, but as he hasn’t made as much progress as many would have hoped, it could be the right time this summer to make a difference.
The Pope may be ideal to help the LUFC if he appears to be an upgrade and they return to the top flight and fight to avoid being demoted to the championship.
Still, if Leeds fails to earn a promotion this semester, it remains to be seen whether the Pope Caliber players are ready to prepare for a step-down to the championship.
As the 32-year-old imagines having other offers from Premier League clubs, Leeds should do their best to continue their amazing form in the moment they see them as one of their favourites to rise.
