Leeds United are reportedly preparing to shut down the move this summer to seal Everton’s centre-back Michael Keene’s transfer.
The newly promoted side was able to strengthen it ahead of its return to top flight after winning the championship last season.
Keene, 32, is a player with a Premier League experience with a Premier League experience, making sense as the extra addition that Daniel Fark can do to prepare for the fight to survive in the Premier League.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Keene’s Everton future is questionable, and he has been identified as a Leeds target this summer.
Michael Keene transfer talk to Leeds appears
It remains to be seen whether Leeds will undoubtedly make this deal, but Keene appears to be checking out a bunch of boxes for Yorkshire outfits.
Former Manchester United and Burnley Mann have been building Premier League careers, even if they are no longer regulars at Everton.
However, Leeds was able to find Keene’s first role for sure, giving him the opportunity to extend his career at the highest level.
Leeds has enough quality for their current team, but they were definitely there and were able to go with more players who did it in the Premier League.
Keene certainly fits the bill in that respect, playing over 400 games in his top-level career, most of which appeared for the Top Division and the England national team.
